Looking for an *L.A. based* artist who (against all odds) has time for a poster gig before the end of the year.

It's for a science + art event.

We can offer $500 for the gig.

Dreadfully sorry about the timeline. Link a portfolio if you're interested, I'll delete this post when we found someone.

If you are interested in supporting arts and culture, consider identifying a museum or cultural center in small, rural, or underserved areas. A little goes along way.

Saw a despicable Noem deportation ad when watching a YT video on the govt transition when Franco died. (Lived there at the time) I’m sure that ad was placed because the vid was in Spanish. Ironically, the vid was about the move away from fascism to democracy.

Look for local art / craft fairs and get something handmade this year. It’s fun to see what people are up to. Here’s one - Friday Nov 21 from 9am to 2 pm. Culver City Senior Center - open to all.

Voters should pick their representatives, not the other way around. Glad to get the chance to talk to some of the volunteers and organizers doing the hard work to make sure Prop 50 passes. This vote will have critical implications, not just for California, but for our entire country.

person: do you like pierogis?

me a month ago: they're fine
me now, they are the height of cuisine, the pinnacle of taste, no dough balls are above them
Can’t say why exactly, but the phrase “once again refused a pierogi” made me laugh out loud.

Heartbreaking news… Tonight, many of our friends were let go, and tomorrow, even more will follow. Word is that all probationary employees at NPS will be let go. 😭

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

It seems to me that Jan 20 is a great day to donate to orgs that will be fighting essential battles to protect our freedom. The work of @marcelias.bsky.social seems like one. Who are your favs?

An amazing gift - a friend sent me a book she liked that she had hand bound in leather with gold leaf. It will be a joy to read on 2 counts - her good taste in literature and the beauty of the book itself. If you need gift ideas, this is top notch.
