During the annual American Revolution commemoration, there's always a reenactment on Lexington Battle Green. It starts at 5 am. It's 6:45, and I was just woken up on a Saturday morning by cannon fire and the rumble of a flock of news helicopters.

So, Trump has promised to wipe all of the blue states off the map.

Is anybody going to object, or are the Dems going to rubber stamp it like everything else?

Trump Says Blue States Will 'Totally Disappear Off The Map' Next Year, Promises 'Big, Big Surprise'
Former President Donald Trump has teased a “big, big surprise” for Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections, claiming that blue states might "totally disappear off the map."

I wonder when they're going to realize that 10-25% of all workers in every state work for the government. If they fire them all, those numbers go directly to into the "unemployed" pile. Unemployment surges up over 10% and stays there. Nobody who governs like that governs for long.

Have y'all read HR7 currently moving through Congress? They're about to make it the law of the land that health care administered to women must prioritize the needs of men. legiscan.com/US/bill/HR7/...

The Cold Men.

Someone in my general orbit works with classified information for their job. When they and their colleagues talk about work in unclassified communications, they have to use coded language that sounds bland and unimportant.

This is a good habit to get into.

The Cold Men.
One of my fourth graders asked a friend if he and his family wanted to live at his house since they are scared of the cold men coming to their house.

The cold men are ICE.

Kids may not understand it all right now, but they are listening.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

People are asking where we go from here. I don't think there is anywhere to go from here except we are enslaved and we die. I haven't seen anything from anyone else that includes a way forward. There is no opposition, no leadership. There's just *nothing.* I have no hope.

Thanks to a coupon for a free large cold-pressed juice from Wegmans, I have a quart of Honeycrisp cider on my stove simmering with a cinnamon stick, ginger slices, and mulling spices.

A recent discovery on the Book of Faces is the Dull Men's Club. I hesitated at first, but it's not just for men, decidedly not dull, and the humor(u)r of its members is absolutely first rate. Happily, they are starting up a presence here, too, @dullmensclubr.bsky.social. Follow them preemptively!

Success! Kind of funny, because his mom is Cantonese, and the dish I made is san bei ji (三杯雞), which is Taiwanese. But I'll take it!

When I see people spouting nonsense about everything from viruses to climate, *and being taken seriously,* it makes me wonder why we even bother. Maybe we should let humanity take an express trip back to the Dark Ages to remind everybody why we worked so hard to get out of them in the first place.

Since the tech-bro-owned social media platforms are DEFINITELY entering their post-truth era (no thanks), I guess we're going all-in on decentralized platforms!

Honestly, Mastodon is probably my preference, but the people I follow are mostly here for now. Okay then, here we go.

It’s on all of us (to some extent)

“Likes” don’t really do anything here.

When you like someone’s post it just creates a notification TO THEM ONLY that you liked it.
