When I see people spouting nonsense about everything from viruses to climate, *and being taken seriously,* it makes me wonder why we even bother. Maybe we should let humanity take an express trip back to the Dark Ages to remind everybody why we worked so hard to get out of them in the first place.

Right? I feel much the same as @scalzi.com in this post from Threads.

I haven't posted these here, but this is what the aurora looked like at my house NW of Boston on Thurs. I only saw this because I happened to have a husband needing to be fetched from Logan, so I stepped outside and proceeded to be very late picking him up. Oops.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #1,550,368! Took me FOREVER to get an invite. I was on the waiting list for over a year, and I still got in faster by asking a random stranger on the internet when I got sick of waiting.
