Proposal for the next Constitutional amendment: If at any point during a Congressional term the House is in session for less than 10% of the total elapsed length of the term, the Speaker is considered to have abandoned their post and must be replaced by a quorum of representatives present in DC.

This Congress has so far existed for 285 days. They've clocked 27 days of actual work.

I figured they'd be carrying out air strikes on US cities by the end of the year. Looks like I was right.

Theirs. That's the route to power. The military will happily fire on us and destroy our cities before it will even consider defending us because there is no advantage for them in defending the American people.

Was about to say the same thing about Cawthorn. He already let that particular cat out of the bag.

He lost interest and is just going to keep collecting tariff money from us to subsidize his billionaire benefactors. Meanwhile, Congress has manipulated the calendar and specifically voted to strip themselves of the power to evaluate and end "emergency" tariffs. 🤷

Their goal was to disenfranchise trans people (who have changed their names) under the guise of preventing non-citizens from voting. They get a two-fer, though, because people who changed their names upon marriage (mostly women) will also be disenfranchised.

So if the name on your birth certificate doesn't match the name on your driver's license when you (re)register to vote, you are SOL, unless you have a proof of citizenship in your married name (i.e. a current passport).
August 30, 2025 at 11:32 PM
This is a US federal law passed this year. In order to register to vote US states are now required to verify proof of identification and proof of citizenship. The names on these two proofs must be identical. Proof of legal name change is not required to be accepted.

Remember how they passed a law that will make it impossible for 70 million married women to register to vote unless they have a current passport? I remember.

Even Alito wouldn't rule to just nullify a constitutional amendment. What they CAN do is rule that women are not "people" and therefore not US citizens. Then, it doesn't matter what the 14th or 19th Amendments say, because first and foremost, only citizens have the right to vote.

The Guard can be federalized under certain circumstances, which is why Steven Miller called 500 peaceful protestors an "insurrection."

I ran into someone the other day arguing with his whole chest that deporting 11 million people would solve the housing shortage.

He had never heard of "Lebensraum."

All you have to do is look at the ideological profiles of anti-vaxxers to see the grain of truth in it.

Yes, Ma'am! Good to see you here.
March 31, 2025 at 10:55 PM
Yeah, but they also can't be stopped. If they want to slaughter everyone who didn't vote for them, there is no one who can or will even *attempt* to stop them.
March 26, 2025 at 12:28 AM
They aren't. Dem strategists are recommending that the party roll over and play dead until the midterms and then hope that "Trump bad" is a good enough strategy to get them elected. 🙄
March 13, 2025 at 10:16 AM
The first Trump administration detained 600+ American citizens on suspicion of immigration violations, arrested over 200, and deported 70.

70 American citizens were deported on his say-so when there were still guardrails in place. It's going to be a lot worse this time.

Heeyyy! I've seen that profile picture before!
March 10, 2025 at 5:26 PM
I bet they'll open facilities for women who don't want to have children, though.
March 10, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Yes. Because if parents can legally do it to their kids, the government can legally do it to every single citizen if they want to.
