Maybe I’ll make this some day.
Made Italian buttercream for the first time! I think it's the perfect texture. I like the flavor (added some melted chocolate) but I think it can be improved. One step closer to opening a bakery and leaving academia behind.

Congratulations to the state of Virginia!
Also a lit phd and longtime community college educator
Worth mentioning, one helluva journey for Senator Ghazala Hashmi, elected in 2019 to the Virginia Senate, inspired to run for office because of Trump’s travel ban against majority Muslim countries.

After tonight, she will be the 1st Muslim woman elected to to statewide office in the United States

VICTORY: Maine voters have overwhelmingly rejected Question 1. It would have upended absentee voting and implemented some of the strictest mandatory voter ID requirements in the nation. By defeating Question 1, Maine voters have maintained access to the ballot box.

Zohran is stone cold man. Putting out an ad in Arabic after all the Islamophobic shit that’s been thrown his way? Pure swag.

Dems don’t need to copy his politics or even necessarily his campaign strategy, they need to learn how to grow a fucking spine.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.

The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...
