If you have never read Parable of the Sower or Parable of the Talents, now is the time.

It’s about a future where the worst parts of our current world are never stopped and how we find hope anyway.

As if I needed another reason to love her
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

I'll tell you. Because Carney loves fossil fuels now, he's trampling on indigenous rights, and this man has principles.

PSA for the fellas:

Every woman you know has been in a room with a Pete Hegseth (sometimes drunk, sometimes not) who raged at her for not being instantly charmed by, or acquiescent to, him—like Hegseth rages at reporters—and had to do a quick calculation about getting out safely. And a lot didn't.

Since the GOP is openly against immigrants now, I assume they're calling for anchor baby Barron Trump and his immigrant mom Melania to be deported, right?

He's the son a criminal, Donald, held liable for fraud, sexual assault & partied with a pedophile. A family of grifters and moochers, right?

New: AI chatbots can change voters' minds, according to a pair of in-depth studies published just now in Science and Nature.

How they do it is interesting — and concerning. Gift link: wapo.st/49RSstP
Voters’ minds are hard to change. AI chatbots are surprisingly good at it.
New research suggests AI chatbots can shift people’s political views more effectively than campaign ads on TV.

Mamdani just played Trump without sacrificing immigrants, Muslims, workers, or the LGBTQ.

Trump did his transactional charm offensive, Mamdani countered without compromising.

He won big and this is the man the Democratic Establishment still won't embrace.

What more do people need to see?

Make NDAs illegal for public officials...Michigan House passed it earlier this year. Let's GET IT DONE.
In this commentary from Howell resident Breanne Green, she says efforts to ram through data centers have united people across the political spectrum.

“Good, solid, well thought-out projects don’t need secrecy, non disclosure agreements (NDAs), or fear of public pushback. Only bad ones do.”
Local governments should serve residents, not corporations. Data centers do the opposite. • Michigan Advance
Something is happening in Livingston County’s Howell Township that every Michigander should pay attention to, no matter their politics. On a quiet Sunday morning in September, I came across a legal no...

Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.
