Risky mid-summer transplant paid off...thriving smooth asters emerge just as all my other pollinators have finished blooming and a Monarch hatched (?) in my garden 💜🧡
Four light purple flowers and many more buds. They have many skinny petals and blueish green leaves. A bee is on one flower.

Rochester, NY is doing some great stuff to add green space and access to its water-rich spaces. Also, an amazing host this weekend for the Great Lakes Conference!

Ok, time to finally post recent garden pics!
2 sleeping bumblebees at dawn, laying atop a bunch of small pink flowers, which is rose milkweed. They look like they could be holding hands. A long thin black insect, a little over an inch long, with a blue neon spot on on end, and a neon green and black head and small torso on the other. The damselfly is holding on to the upright, bright green, thin stem of a nodding onion. There are many out of focus bright green stems and leaves in the background. A mix of different wildflowers including pink rose milkweed, yellow black-eyed susan, purple echinacea, purple bee balm, and a grassy brown fox sedge poking through the flowers. What I believe to be a nymph grasshopper. Its entire body, including eyes, is a speckled grey-brown. It is sitting on the leaf of a butterfly milkweed. Above the insect are small orange flowers.

I know not everyone can control where they move to due to family situations, jobs, etc, but the disproportionate and overall pattern of this is mind-boggling to me. Is it ignorance? Short-term satisfaction? Denial?

Curious how this could be his legal residence when - if I remember correctly - there is something that legally prohibits it being his personal residence? Not that it matters...James has other low hanging fruit to go after first.
