I certainly wish the people would have asked for more. They wouldn’t have gotten it, like objecting to Trump electors because he’s ineligible wouldn’t have worked. But we would have seen our institutions fighting for us.
And yet, everyone is acting like a sentence if unconditional discharge is normal or that prosecutors asking for that doesn't also cause "damage to the public perception of the criminal justice system."
Joshua Steinglass, Manhattan DA team: "This defendant has caused enduring damage to the public perception of the criminal justice system."

New in PN: North Carolina Republicans restart the steal

"The entire state supreme court affair is a microcosm of the last several years, a one-stop-shop highlighting all the ways in which Republicans have used the nonexistent problem of election fraud to destroy trust and make it harder to vote."

If you can't beat 'em, try to get 60,000 votes tossed out.

The Washington Post calls January 6 and the events leading up to it "election-reversal efforts." It has gotten Orwellian over there.

I will say again, support independent, pro-democracy media.

I keep trying to explain that John Roberts is the villain people are looking for and then US Courts goes and makes my point for me.

Some jerks out there said John Roberts is biased just because he ruled, when Trump needed him to, that the president is a lawless king who can’t be prosecuted and the states don’t get to decide who’s ineligible to run because he sacked the capitol or whatever. This threatens judicial independence.

John Roberts is very upset that the public has lost confidence in John Roberts and the institution John Roberts leads following a series of confidence-cratering actions by John Roberts and his colleagues, and therefore would like everyone to know that this is not John Roberts' fault, it's yours.

Whitney Cummings DESPERATELY trying to be edgy on CNN tonight.

After every "roast" joke she asks "are we still rolling?" as if she was so outrageous and offensive that CNN was going to cut her off.

She might as well have said: "Are you triggered?!?! Huh, snowflake?"
