Your regular reminder that more benefit goes unclaimed than is claimed fraudulently.

This is just punishing people for the temerity of being in need.
Millions of people could have their bank account scanned for unspecified indicators of benefit fraud - with no need for govt to demonstrate any suspicion or other reason.

The measures might only recoup 2% of fraud and error.

The reality is, Britain economically benefits from immigration and illegal migration is too small to impact most. The communities that blame immigration for decline are actually suffering the effects of 15 yrs of Tory austerity, under-investment in public infrastructure and the reality of Brexit.
