In Mario Party 9, Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi all have the same skeleton structure (identical bones merely arranged at different distances), which means they are able to load each other's animations. Of course, as this was never intended, they appear severely deformed.

In Super Mario 64/DS, drowning overrides other death animations. As such, if the player character dies from fall damage while about to swim, he will appear to be so bad at swimming that he drowns immediately upon touching water.

To the contrary, I can say with confidence those physical models did indeed survive! Here's one shot of Plok. Have all the pieces, including the green half sphere (foam). Efforts underway to restore and display again as a diorama

In Super Mario 64, Boos have a certain minimum turning radius. If Mario is positioned a precise distance away from a Boo, it will try to go after Mario but never be able to turn tightly enough to actually reach him. The Boo will circle fruitlessly around Mario forever.
