They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

🚨 Your House representative is now back home through February 23.

That’s where we come in.

With Trump and Elon Musk pulling off a billionaire coup in real time, this congressional recess is about turning up the heat like never before. Let’s get to work: indivisi.org/muskorus

Extra pain jabs from my fav podcasts this week, all recorded prior to election results. It sucks to hear joy & hope in their voices, laughing at stuff I’d usually find funny. 2 exceptions I’d like to give a big thank-you to for just being real: @whatacreep.bsky.social & @westernkabuki.bsky.social.

Many of us left evangelical Christianity after 2015. We’d been born into it, and the following years exposed its hypocrisy & political agenda in ways logic couldn’t to those indoctrinated young. I’m glad I left, but this defeat is lonelier as an agnostic. Talking to god was pointless yet comforting.

Anyone sharing the @washingtonpost.com article below should know that the data were incomplete when they published. It has been corrected, and the map DOES NOT look like the one in the picture. I didn’t mean to share the post, but I’m a Bluesky novice and don’t know how to quote it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The more I talk about the election the more shocked I am by how many people memory holed 2016-2020. Every day was a new horror. New emergencies popped up constantly. I fundamentally don’t understand how people seemingly forgot about all of it.

Important context for non-scientists:

It is actually *really difficult to get a scientific paper retracted.*

e.g., new evidence indicating scientific misconduct, profound misportrayal of methods/results, or deeply flawed methodology.

Don't treat this lightly.
