As a writer, I’m so honored to tell people’s stories.
This first-hand account of a micromanaging boss that gets in everyone’s way is soooooo relatable.
We’ve all been there.
Special thank you to the leader who shared her story with me.

We're used to surge pricing by now. Flights, hotels, and Ubers are more expensive when they're in demand.
But surveillance pricing - is even worse.

Wait until you read the details.

You're gonna be mad.

“Thanks, man. Where was I? Oh yeah, so it was December, and I just wanted to get out of the cold. I knocked on some random guy's door. I’m tellin’ ya, dude was out of his friggin' mind! He kept asking me a bunch of super weird questions and whining about some chick named Lenore."

Frontline retail teams work their guts out every day.
They leave it all out on the floor so they can help a stranger.

They build communities and safe spaces.
Torrid is set to close 200 stores.
They took away raises.

I wrote about this a bit in my last book but it really shakes me that a defining feature of this catastrophic era is that we just keep going to work. We work through pandemics, we work through natural disasters, we work through economic calamity, we work through coups, we work, we work, we work.

“Target Circle 360 is getting absolutely dog-walked by Walmart+.”

There’s been a lot of talk about boycotts.
But, are they working?
Target is feeling the heat.
Walmart - not so much.

So, why is Walmart doing well?

Walgreens will close 1,200 stores over the next 3 years.

CVS is cutting 3,000 jobs and closing hundreds of stores.

Turns out that high prices, low-staffed stores, and plexiglass jails for common, everyday items aren’t a winning combination.

Did Walmart partner with the Spark payment platform to force their delivery drivers to access their pay on the Spark platform? Forcing these employees to pay more than $10 million in junk fees?
