Great work by the @schliekerlab.bsky.social 👏We're happy that we could contribute a bit.
Naughton et al. @schliekerlab.bsky.social conducted force measurements within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) measuring forces in the piconewton range uncovering a critical role for NOMO as force-bearing transmembrane protein that is critical for myogenesis. rupress.org/jcb/article/...

Exciting news: DFG funds FOR5872 – Chaperone-mediated regulation of amyloids in condensates!
Led by Prof. Janine Kirstein (FLI), researchers from Germany and Israel will explore how chaperones counteract disease-causing protein misfolding.
Good luck to the team!

From June 23 to June 29, 2025, Freie Universität Berlin will be cutting out the letter e from its communication.
Why? Because the university itself is facing cuts: around 37 million euros this year alone. Additional cuts are also planned for 2026 and 2027. (1/3)

I'm indeed very grateful to The European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) to fund the acquisition of two instruments for the comprehensive analysis how molecular chaperones remodel amyloid proteins such as Huntingtin.
At #UniJena, a bundle of new equipment is used to investigate the misfolding and aggregation of the Huntington's protein, the molecular trigger of Huntington's disease, in more detail.

The European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) is funding this with almost 400,000 euros. Thank you! 🙏 🇪🇺
