Not a billionaire, technically, but Apple SVP of Software Craig Federighi was asked “what’s next for you?” (Trying to get him to say “CEO of Apple” or something) and he answered “I don’t know, I just want to raise good kids.” Which seems normal and wholesome.

Talking this over with some VFX folks today and or consensus opinion is that a lot of people just assumed that swapping in the final cleaned up shots was someone else’s job. Frustratingly, this happens all the time in our line of work.

It often goes both ways! Most of what I do is 2997 and very high profile DPs routinely throw fits until we point out that the thing they thought was 2398 was frame converted afterward or shot at 2997 to begin with.

I accidentally had lunch with him and Dick Cavett at MaxFunCon East (sat down at a nearly empty table before they arrived) and he did not appreciate it. Cavett and his wife were super cool though.
