I love when an idea works out. I wanted to make a candy cane icord. I couldn't find a video on how to make a striped icord, but it was really easy. The 2nd photo shows the back, for each row you pick up the strands underneath the last color, making sure keep it under the top yarn. 🧶

The old skirt was worn out where the fabric folds over at the edge of the waistband and started fraying, so I ran a zigzag seam around the edge. Didn't waste effort to make it more presentable as the skirt will soon need patching anyway.

I think it’s gong to work! Super hopeful gay pride crochet!!
This is the last blocking before I finish & put it on the frame. I’m thinking I’ll add 2 more rounds and likely bead the edge so it drops down over the frame arms like a 70s lamp.
Then I should write down what I did so I can do it again.

Band heddle and matching shuttle, made using drills, carving knives, saw, and sandpaper. The heddle is pretty nice for a first try I think (I've made shuttles before). The shuttle has one sharpened long side so it can be used as a beater. #craftsky

Basically there is a technique where you can take a variegated yarn where the colors come in a particular repeating pattern, and turn it into an argyle type pattern without changing yarns.
It should look something like this if I do it correctly.
