Crafting in a "this is fun" way and not a "people shouldn't have rights" way
The feline familiars must recharge in the sun. Not pictured: the blue jay that Nyxie (left) will definitely devour one day (he won't, as a lifelong indoor baby)

My book dragon has reached her final form: an oversized tote bag! I think the scale got away from me a little bit more than initially intended, but that's alright. Just means more room for book hoards!

I swear sometimes the hardest part of sewing and quilting is picking accessories and hardware. What zipper color goes best: lavender, light blue, yellow, green, or purple?

Reading somehow feels more productive if I can turn it into a colorful list and chart spread in a journal

Today I finished my crochet Jane Austen that's been in the works for over a year (🫣) Maybe now I should actually read the very pretty book she goes with

I recently learned about plant jewelry, so I spent all of yesterday putting stars and pretty things on my lemon meringue pothos (her name is Calliope, because why not have a Greek muse pie plant?)

One of my kids used the phrase "Christian mythology" this morning (courtesy of me treating the stories of the Bible like the Greek pantheon). I don't know how that's going to shake out in today's political climate, but life is an experiment and I'm excited to see.

My first hand knit sock circa 2016 and my most recent sock, side by side. I love keeping the firsts of things even when they fit poorly so I can see how my knitting skills improve. I've also finally gotten over my fear of using "fancy" yarn! Yay progress! 🧶

I'm in love with the monthly summary spreads from @thestorygraph.com. They make me feel like a proper BookSky girly more than my little journal spreads

Knitting socks with bamboo DPNs is great for anxiety. If I let the tension in my chest reach my hands, I'll snap a needle. So the whole thing turns into forced relaxation. And you can take breaks to pet the yarn 🧶

I'm new to this hobby, but knitting Gundam is a totally normal and acceptable pose for battle robots, right? Everyone likes to be cozy. 🧶🤖💙📚

Lazy Sunday means doing some visible mending (yet another) hole in my son's clothing. I used a scrap from an upcycled sweater as the patch so it feels very "waste not, want not." Sashiko sewing is my favorite.

I heard snoring while working and found these two cuddly furry babies behind me
(Peep the blanket I crocheted for the books I read in 2023, still love how it turned out)

When two hobbies collide: reading and sewing. I made a zipper pen holder that matches my current read (The Last One by @rachelhowzell.bsky.social)
