My 8-year-old daughter and I got the updated #Covid vaccines today.

Costco had the new Novavax (Nuvaxovid) in so I was able to get it!

They didn't ask any questions about pre-existing conditions.

Get vaccinated while they are still available! Don't wait!

On the same day the FDA restricted access to COVID vaccines, the CDC director was sacked and top CDC scientists are resigning.

And it’s barely been two weeks since an antivax conspiracy theorist fired 180 bullets at CDC headquarters.

None of this is making America healthier. What a disaster.

With health agencies collapsing, it's never been more important for all of us to play active roles in protecting each other's health.

A couple of easy things you can do:
1️⃣ Wear a well-fitting mask and distribute them to others
2️⃣ Spread word about updated vaccines and help others make appointments

It's great that states are forming regional public health alliances to ensure people still have access to vaccines. They should take it one step further & include distributing free masks & tests, installing clean air infrastructure etc. The best way to prevent outbreaks is with layered protections!

About this Florida vaccine story:

When they were little - 1 yr and 3 1/2 - my two older boys, who’d had all their shots, got whooping cough.

We asked their pediatrician what would’ve happened if they hadn’t been vaccinated.

“Oh, they’d have died.”

Empty words. Cassidy had a chance to stop RFK Jr’s confirmation. He didn’t. That says everything.
Bill Cassidy's line of questioning was clever -- he pressed Kennedy on how he can praise Trump for Operation Warp Speed while at the same time denigrating vaccines.

Here's the beginning of the exchange.

COVID killed at least 1.1 million people in the US (likely an undercount).

COVID vaccines saved at least 3.2 million lives in the US in the first two years alone.

Completely unacceptable RFK Jr is restricting vaccine access when he clearly has no idea how COVID or vaccines work.
Warner: "Secretary of Health and Human Service -- he doesn't know how many people died from covid, doesn't know if the vaccine saved lives, doesn't understand the issue that OBGYN doctors are fleeing rural America ... "

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Just say “after quarantine.” Saying we’re past COVID after two presidents have deliberately stopped testing for it is a bit like saying the era of school shootings is over because we no longer hope for any government intervention. COVID causes serious brain damage and many don’t know they have it.

The avg American has already been infected ~4x. “Brain fog” isn’t just being tired — it’s measurable brain injury. Each year you skip masking, testing, or clean air, you’re rolling the dice on another 1–2 infections.

I don’t know how to say this without sounding harsh, but I need you to hear it. COVID — or SARS-2 — is not “just another cold.” It doesn’t leave you the same. Every reinfection stacks damage: brain, heart, immune system.
