Humming beneath the melody, the lower voices in the quartet set a quiet, peaceful tone that fits today’s #ExploreYourArchive theme of #EYASilence

We lost the wonderful Shane MacGowan two years ago today. The Pogues' album "Rum, Sodomy and the Lash" is one of my favourite albums of all time. The emotion that Shane put into singing the lyrics of "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" is profound and very moving. #ShaneMacGowan

An tseachtain seo caite, tugadh An Tiomna Nuadh, an t-aistriúchán Gaeilge ar The New Testament ó 1602, ar ais chuig an bhfoireann bailiúchán speisialta. Rinneadh obair chaomhnaithe ar an leabhar i dTeach Mhucrois, Cill Airne agus anois tá cuma iontach air!

On 11 November 1954: The Two Towers is published!

Being the second part of J.R.R. #Tolkien's epic The Lord of the Rings, it is a volume of two halves. The first follows Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli to Fangorn and Rohan; and after the Battle of the Hornburg, ends with Gandalf taking Pippin to Gondor.
