Insightful thread from @jeremymberg.bsky.social on the courage of #women leaders

Particularly evident in #standupforscience

Thinking of @ksusztak.bsky.social when I read this
Bluetorial: Women, courage, and leadership

What follows will include some generalizations based on population averages of what I have experienced over the course of my career. There are, of course, exceptions in every group who are substantially more to one extreme or the other.

An RCP that actually led would:

1. Listen to its members

2. Advocate for members

3. Defend medical excellence

4. Speak truth to power

This is why I believe the RCP needs @drasifqasim.bsky.social for its new President and @drlkvaughan.bsky.social for VP.

Leadership is not ignoring the concerns of your Members & Fellows - expressed with ever greater desperation as they can't get training numbers & even face unemployment.

Nor is it responding to a workforce crisis by, wait for it, commissioning a 'review' of the problem. (2/3)
