Maturity is rewatching Star Trek: The Next Generation and realizing the vitriol for both Wesley Crusher and Lwaxana Troi was unwarranted.

ICE recently closed its Portland building to the public, multiple sources told Street Roots Monday. The closure may seem like a win for ICE opponents, but immigrant rights advocates say closing the building wreaks havoc for those seeking critical legal aid. ✍️: @jeremiahhayden.bsky.social
Feds’ closure of ICE building blocks immigrants’ access to critical legal aid
ICE claims it hasn't changed its operations, but immigration attorneys, advocates and families report roiling confusion after finding the Portland location closed.

Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Supporting unions and fighting for higher wages.

If Dems want to win back working people, this is the agenda they must support.

Transparency: I’m not a parent, but I do work in the field of education. Please let our legislature know how important the Preschool for All program is to Oregonians.
🚨 Heads-up, neighbors: our Preschool for All program (approved by 64 % of MultCo voters) faces a last-minute push in Salem to suspend its funding. Let’s talk facts, not fear. 🧵👇🏾

I’m glad that Councilwoman Avalos and the other six council members voted the way they did. More police doesn’t equal better safety. Desperate people make desperate choices; proactively deal with that desperation, and you increase public safety overall.
The Oregonian says Portland “can’t afford” to shift $1.9M from the $300M+ police budget to maintain parks.

What we really can’t afford? Another year of rotting restrooms, trash-filled playgrounds, and fear-based spins on public safety. 🧵

Editorial: A $1.9 million budget shift that Portland can’t afford

Please read, this is important. Sorry it’s long.

Trump’s move to have Elon Musk step aside wasn’t a retreat. It was a distraction. With Musk’s name out of the headlines, many assumed the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had quietly ended. It hasn’t. It’s just changed hands.

Fellow GMs/DMs, read the whole thread.
There’s a room in a dungeon.

In its description, it says there are “1d4 kobolds”.

And those kobolds don’t exist until someone opens the door to the room. They’re not having tea, they’re not discussing philosophy.

Hi folks. 👋 I see you found my IG/FB posts. I migrated here mostly to get away from the mindless scrolling I do on those sites, and maybe post a relevant thought or two. No promises that I’ll be more prolific here, but I’m gonna try being more interactive. 🤞

When are we collectively going to understand that in order to continue moving forward now requires us to forcibly remove the obstacles in the path?

No, this isn’t a subtle political post; it’s an overt one. Our world leaders are failing us. Remove them.

Found myself humming “Escape” (aka The Piña Colada song), and musing that succinctly it encompassed just how wild the 1970’s were.

Then I spent a half an hour nursing a hummingbird back to health.

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got.
