I heard Monisha talk about her book at Kendal Mountain Festival last week. I was already a third of the way into the book, but that and her talk have set me researching night trains for next spring travels.

Evening Womble! I saw Kimberley McIntosh interviewed at the Anti Racist Cumbria Summit on Friday so dipping into her intriguing memoir Black Girl No Magic alongside Nalo Hopkinson's collection Jamaica Ginger and Other Concoctions which is wonderful as expected.

Good reviews aren't the same as positive reviews. They tell the reader something useful and meaningful about the subject that isn't purely based on the reviewers taste.
Also they can be entertaining and interesting in their own right, regardless of the work being reviewed.
