Another CGI fest I will happily ignore.
‘THE TOXIC AVENGER’, starring Peter Dinklage, is now playing in theaters.

Americans better be having regrets. Choices were made that allowed this to become reality. We were warned for years. To claim ignorance rings hollow.

Both sides are to blame for different reasons, and I'm not seeing evidence either side has learned much.

Never Again: Why I Refuse to Carry the Burden of Caregiving

I was writing a book about how to survive family illness and Caregiving, but now I know I should have walked away. Here's why.

This is no more of a practical solution than making Linux look more like Windows. Pointless and doesn’t solve the problems.

I completely agree, but seemingly the best the NDP can do is complain about the UCP.

Straight up tell us what you’ll do. Shitting on the other team isn’t doing what you think it’s doing.

Teachers: we really need supports for complex needs in classrooms, lower class sizes, better working conditions, and appropriate funding

UCP: best we can do is a book ban

I guess Ridley Scott has nothing better to do.
I am not entertained.

Speaking about potential future projects, director Ridley Scott said that he'd be interested in another Alien movie "if I get an idea," and that a third Gladiator movie is in progress right now.

Vulnerable individuals I work with don't have cars, but have needs: shopping, attending appointments, visiting children, etc. Many use buses, many depend on bicycles, e-scooters, skateboards, and yes, even shopping carts. They want to be safe as much as you and I. #abpoli www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Provincial pressure mounts as Edmonton mayor vows to push forward with bike lanes | CBC News
Sohi said he told the minister in a Monday morning meeting that it’s too late to pause or reverse bike lane plans at 132nd Avenue, Alberta Avenue and in Delton because contracts have been signed.

Infuriating they were reassuring customers as recently as March. "If it were to change at some point, there would likely be a tool to help bloggers migrate to another platform. However, as mentioned, there is no plan at this time to shut down Typepad, and the Support team are still here for you."
Typepad told me they aren't going out of business. Hope that's true.
I've been blogging with Typepad since 2003, which is when Wikipedia says Typepad launched. So I must have been one of their earliest customers. Now I have three Typepad blogs. So while I've gotten use...

IMHO it's a rather stunning achievement that Social Media companies convinced nearly every biz in the world to permanently put their logo on their branding, vehicle wraps, etc, for free marketing in the attempt to "connect" with customers, which was honestly never the point.

Painstakingly put together detailed notes to use at my bank appt today to get info about financially preparing for MAID.

Didn’t use them. Somehow I just knew what to say and it flowed. Weird how that works.

Second MAID assessment done today. She contradicted some of the "basics" of eligibility that the program has confirmed to me multiple times. She denied me based on how she interprets the law and her role as an Assessor, which she claims she can do.

I'll iron out the details with their office.

Yep. Prestige podcasting is dying for the same reason as the rest of the media: Pontificating is cheap and reporting is expensive.

Our Handyman has expressed interest in doing that work full-time after 20+ years in automotive parts at a dealership. We were discussing a new website.

Most people get pointed toward WordPress. For the landing page he's basically looking for, I suggested Wix or Squarespace.

brazil is on the way of implementing a similar age-verification system to the uk that is """for the children""" and if that ends up happening i'll have to shut down deck.blue

i'm operating under brazilian laws and i don't want to build a verification system that will do more harm than anything else

Online age verification is not like "showing ID to buy alcohol" because

a) the liquor store doesn't get to scan your ID and store a digital copy of it forever in a database that will inevitably get hacked

b) you don't have to show ID to go to the library because they have cocktail recipe books

If it comes down to giving billionaires control in order to do things in space, IMHO, we just need to call it quits now. It's not worth it. Imagine what $4B could do for those in poverty.
"Now let's talk about Mars" the hosts say on the SpaceX livestream, but let's not say a word about the $4 billion contracts we hold with NASA to send astronauts to the Moon
