This book grew on me AFTER reading, meaning it has stayed with me in unexpected ways.
Maybe the densest novel under 200 pages I've ever read. I was lost, found, then lost again. This book contains some of the most stunning lines. A frenzy of magical grotesque beauty. Two dozen folktales packed in a cabin in the woods. I'm already craving more.

Each new draft of a story feels "perfect" until I read it, when it becomes disappointing and I return to revise. There, it appears as though it were a hastily scratched hodgepodge of loose ideas...

I also found 'A Month in the Country' one of the best books I've read in a long while. The quietness and unhurried pace enhance the compelling mysteries and enigmas within the small book.

The impact of the novel’s silences and enigmas is amplified by the enigma that is Carr himself.

Stan @muz4now.com Stewart has released a new EP today! Stan’s OICU takes you through 4 ethereal, ambient tracks composed over 1 week using the sounds of only 1 software synthesizer. Despite these restrictions the music is full and complex. Check it out! 👍

Fascinating. If Hollywood is so intent om filming remakes, maybe do this again with the best ending.

All of this. Making art is a fundamentally human activity. We’ve been doing it since we came into existence.

Nobody told the Lascaux cave painters they could have had more likes if they’d avoided “10 Cave Painting Mistakes You Don’t Know You’re Making”
It's a palpable loss to us as individuals, and as a society, for us to stop doing creative things just because we're not in the top skill or popularity percentages of people who do them.

We don't do ourselves any favors by thinking stuff we create has to impress or sell to have value.

The crowd was so big that it filled the street all the way past the post office. (With some gaps for marching.) I've never seen so many people out for a protest. It was very slow getting home on my trike. And there are also protests all over the Valley and up in the hilltowns, too, today.
