Siri suggestion; edit 6.30am alarm - Christmas Day founds in holidays calendar.

Yeah that’s a lovely thought, but I have a child. 6.30am on Christmas Day would be a lie-in. In fact, I’d be happy with 5.30am.

Your Christmas or Mine is officially my top Christmas film. My favourite actor Daniel Mays wearing a Macclesfield scarf (as a Silkmen fan, this brings me untold joy) Asa Butterfield making gilets cool again, and Angela Griffin being her delightful self… it’s cheesy but immensely watchable!

Marcothon days 4 & 5. We all know I am going to run out of pithy weather comments quickly, so thought it best to stop the daily posts before it gets ugly. Like the language used during the 49mph gusts tonight. #marcothon2025 #ukrunners #runningcommunity #running #runnerslife #runningmotivation

In case it wasn't already obvious why Farage and his party are spreading misinformation about the climate crisis and trying to blame the most vulnerable for the problems caused by inequality - they've just received a record donation from a jet fuel multimillionaire!

“This strategy simply papers over cracks of a politics in which the Overton window moves steadily towards the hard right & likely big victory of the party that represents a full-fat rather than semi-skimmed version of national populism” - great from Neal Lawson on need for Labour to build alliances👏

Marcothon day 3 - was expecting hail or equally disappointing weather, however was rewarded for yesterday’s soaking with this beautiful view. Nice easy plod which was welcome after a tough day. Very pleasant; 8/10

Day 2 = rain. Pic is of a flood spot I cunningly avoided on my run tonight. No matter; a new one popped up just around the corner. To the person that sped up to ensure I was drenched from head to toe; I sincerely hope there is a hell, and you spend eternity with wet socks. #marcothon2025 #ukrunning

Marcothon day 1. Gave up on taking a pic; living 5 mins from the sea makes for lovely running in summer, not so much during 45mph gusts! Nearly got taken out by a wheelie bin. #marcothon2025 #ukrunning #running #runningcommunity

So instead of “drill baby drill” it’s now “steal baby steal”. I am so tired of the world only caring about possessing oil rather than the damage the pursuit of it has caused.

Still hearing “yeah but Farage is a bloke you could have a pint with” from people…nah. @zackpolanski.bsky.social comes across as 1000x more authentic and equally importantly, I get the feeling he’d be much more fun down the local on a Friday night!
Hope is here.

So; a weekend in London and once again the only photos I have taken are of books I need to add to my ever-growing TBR list. I think I need to send Waterstones a headshot with a polite request to stop letting me in.
