Watt's of the Groucho Marx school of policy making — "those are my principles, and if you don't like them...well, I have others!"

Actually most of Labor is, Watt's just more nakedly expedient & less inclined to conceal it
#EPBC Environment Minister "Watt, is open to a deal with the Coalition [..] including revising a new provision designed to block projects that cause an “unacceptable impact” on the environment"

Last night @davidpocock.bsky.social and I read onto the Hansard an interview by the President of Nauru that the Albanese Government has been desperately trying to keep secret.

It shows Nauru plans to send refugees to places they fled. No wonder the secrecy.

Who're the parties that'll be served by the @albomp.bsky.social govt ramming regressive EPBC laws thru parliament by year's end, & why do they feature in the Business Council of Australia-led 'Alliance of 26 industry groups'❓

Also, why TF is the Group of 8 universities amongst them❓

Child removals, especially Indigenous children have never been greater in Australia. The numbers are phenomenal as housing insecurity bites.
All of those children in unsafe environments are about to lose contact with the world.
I am terrified for them.

Hats off to @lancerichardson.bsky.social for this Herculean achievement.
