Shutting down the NIH indefinitely without stated cause is literally an act of sabotage.

As a student of history, I'm not being hyperbolic. The federal government built the Black middle class in DC, and in many parts of the U.S., largely because it was one of the first organizations to hire Black professionals and prohibit discrimination. It is amongst the most diverse US workforce.

Unlike the rest of you I’m consuming the exact right amount of news

It’s how I’m coping! Learning about the natural world gives me a sense of how that balances me out. This world is so much bigger than us.

This matters. Not because I think Trump is capable of mercy or empathy towards these vulnerable groups. But because it is a public act of defiance.

Contrast that with all these other powerful people in this country signaling nothing but appeasement and obedience.
