It was a joy for @churchesengland.bsky.social to spend the evening with young leaders from more than 20 of our national Member Churches listening to their stories and sharing the challenges and opportunities of #ecumenism

Thank you to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for hosting

Maundy Thursday.

“Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God,got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet.”

My privilege & honour to move the motion supported by the National Society and +Portsmouth. I hope this work to include the voices of young adults @churchofengland.org will continue & not lose its momentum as I leave General Synod in June.

'This has been a place that has shaped my vocation'

@kenson.bsky.social highlights that average age of #GeneralSynod is 58 with 65 members over 70

We need 'prophetically uncomfortable voices of young adults... to become a natural part of this #synod proceedings & deliberations

Here’s #Synod Mirfield ordinand @kenson.bsky.social presenting his motion to enable the participation of young people (18-25) in Synod, because we need to hear their voices in order to help us serve the church’s mission, to listen to each other, to share their vision & to grow their spiritual gifts.

Especially thankful for @kenson.bsky.social bringing the motion to allow young adults to participate in Synod. As a CEYC member it was important to me that we felt we had representation and were involved with the wider church.

God I loathe the “AI is here to stay” justification. First of all, many things exist that you needn’t invite into your lives! Poisonous snakes aren’t going anywhere but you aren’t hiring one for the front desk. More to the point in this case, AI is only “here to stay” insofar as you KEEP USING IT
Disgusted and disappointed to see the Mucha Museum creating and promoting A¡ artwork, then doubling down after receiving valid criticism. They could have used their platform to uplift human artists but chose to support inethical practices instead. What is the art world coming to?

The ‘humanist’ denial of what I would see as an inseparable and innate religious sensibility of the human is a very white western approach indeed.
Once again, we are being told what we ‘actually want’, what’s ’good for us’, and not given a chance to be heard.
"As we approach the vote on assisted dying this week, I’ve been struck by how arguments in favour have held to very white, Western concepts of what it is to be human."

Got a few things off my chest about race and #AssistedDying

It was lovely to spend Stir Up Sunday at Little Saint Mary’s, Cambridge, in many ways my spiritual home. Wonderful to see friends and people who have supported me in my vocation journey there, and to share in the parish lunch with them.
