When Senator Bill Cassidy announced he would vote to confirm RFK Jr, he included this in his statement:

“If confirmed, he will maintain the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices without changes.”

WITHOUT CHANGES.
BREAKING via AP

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how to use vaccines and pledged to replace them with his own picks.

I LOVE THIS!!!
This video is making the rounds again for a reason.

A great example of how you make your voices heard—without saying a word. Power in numbers and it sends a clear message. This is what democracy looks like: standing up to fascism, tyranny, and racism.

This is the way!

It links to our NIH & NSF trackers, grant info submission forms, and other info. We'll also add new analyses soon.

Check it out and let us know what else you'd like to see.

Your assignment is both the comment and to share this will colleagues, friends, networks, etc.

We need an overwhelming response.

The government is required to respond to comments.

This may not be sufficient but it certainly is necessary!

Implementation of Schedule F

This is what a lot of us have been worried about.

This allows for many civil service positions to replaced with political appointees. This could include NIH institute directors and even POs.

BUT THERE IS A COMMENT PERIOD...

King Holmes was a giant in STI research. He built the UW into a powerhouse in the area and steered my own thesis advisor, Maggie So, toward what would become her pathbreaking career of work on Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Our work as researchers, educators, and mentors sends ripples to distant shores.
