They should’ve never voted for Trump in the first place.

But they chose incompetence and hatred.
Enten: "This is probably the worst 10 day period for the president in the polls his entire second term. The numbers are just atrocious ... when your best poll has you 14 points underwater, you know it's truly bad and it's as bad as 26 points underwater ... -43 with independents! They despise him."

It was always about silencing black voices and the teaching of black history on campus. It’s all part of their white nationalist project.
Good news: only really, really dumb people thought they really wanted free speech on campus

Bad news: There are a deal-breakingly lot of really, really dumb people

It was always about free speech for Republicans to say what they want without consequence and silencing Democrats.
The party that promised "free speech on campus" has made sure there can be no free speech on campuses.
This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Imagine if Republicans really wanted to address the immigration problem by passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation instead of using the issue for political gain! That’s the right way to address the problem.

Indeed, Roberts is a radical who believes in cementing white minority rule in a country with changing demographics. That is Roberts’ and the Republican Party’s project.
Roberts’ decision in Shelby County - in which he eviscerated the Voting Rights Act under the absurd premise that southern states’ attacks on black voting were a thing of the past - is the worst SCOTUS decision since Dred Scott. Inventing presidential immunity is equally bad. Roberts is no “moderate”

It’s really important to note that Republican Party elites like John Roberts and the other radicals on the Supreme Court are all part of the Republican Party’s white nationalist project.
But the court’s acquiescence to an antidemocratic America didn’t start in 2025.

In our latest cover issue, @pemalevy.bsky.social traces the ways in which Roberts has been embedding white-dominant authoritarianism into the country’s source code for two decades.

John Roberts once promised to be like an umpire. He charmed both senators and the media, and for 20 years, was portrayed as a moderate institutionalist.

But today, it's become clear that the promise was a lie.

We are watching a rigged game, and Roberts set it up.

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

I am not so sure that an “anti-corruption” platform is going to trump white voters rejection of changing demographics in the country. There’s also the issue of white voters refusing to recognize the legitimacy of minorities elected to office.

What he means by “freedom” is social dominance over minority groups. Real democracy erodes their ability to make nonwhites into second class citizens. This has long been the argument of the south regionally and is now the explicit argument of the Republican Party at the national level.
Imagine the arrogance of coming to another country as an immigrant, becoming a citizen, and then having the audacity to publicly say you're ready to destroy their constitution.

He should have lost his citizenship awhile ago.

Republicans like Vance who’ve trafficked in anti-blackness and anti-semitism haven’t been shivved by Trump’s endorsement of Carlson & Fuentes.

Vance has proven he’s willing to sell out his own family to make favor with white nationalists.

At some point we have to admit that this is who they are.
Trump really shivved JD Vance when he endorsed Tucker's interview w/Nick Fuentes, who had been mocking Vance and making racist comments about his wife. Trump basically dumped the Fuentes mess on him.
