Good job Senate Democrats. 🙄

They’re just not equipped for this fight.

Amazing how the media still refuses to call out Trump’s racism.

I wrote about the "Appeasement Eight" Senate Democrats getting the party to fold to Trump in the government shutdown, and why it shows that pro-democracy Americans badly need a real opposition party, full of leaders who recognize the United States isn't a normal rule of law democracy anymore.
Democrats Have to Get Out of a Normal Democracy Mindset
By folding in the government shutdown in exchange for virtually nothing, eight Democratic senators aid Trump's authoritarian takeover rather than oppose it

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Voters chose hate in 2024. They’ve received what they voted for. They’ve also gotten corruption.
Trump’s America, the sequel:
The accomplices Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, Christina Bobb, and dozens of fake GOP electors get pardons. The truth-tellers get threats.
And next up, a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell.

This should’ve been the story today. Instead it’s about Senate Democrats.

The capitulation tour continues . . .
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"

This is on the voters who chose to vote for Trump knowing what he did.

The American electorate is broken.
To repeat: Maybe electing a life-long criminal to an office where he can pardon other criminals wasn't such a good idea.

This shows just how much Senate Democrats don’t get it. There is no defense for this. None.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

And I mean both resign as minority leader AND resign from the Senate. You're done, pal. Let someone else do the work.

This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

Warner should be primaried. He’s incapable of fighting this fight.
Warner is up for reelection. He was widely seen driving towards surrender behind the scenes, but he's voting no in public because it's unpopular. The real question is whether he supports a senate leadership change. If not, someone who supports senate leadership change should primary him.
But I cannot support a deal that still leaves millions of Americans wondering how they are going to pay for their health care or whether they will be able to afford to get sick.

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

We tried to show them after the last surrender. There's no sense in trying to convince them anymore. Primaries are the only path to a fighting opposition party now.

Senate Democrats are incapable of fighting the battle against authoritarian Republicans. Democrats who caved and plan to run again must be primaried.

There’s simply no excuse for caving at this juncture for little to nothing in return. Pathetic.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
November 10, 2025 at 1:15 AM
Just pathetic . . . Schumer doesn’t even have enough sense not to grin when asked about a deal that gives Democrats absolutely nothing.
Senate Democrats are meeting behind closed doors to discuss the emerging deal. “Stay tuned,” Schumer tells us with a grin.

I'm serious, we NEED to organize massive protests tomorrow at Schumer's offices, this man cannot be trusted to hold office, period.

Not only is he not the right person for the moment, he is the WORST person for the moment. Riley, the old blind dog on my block, would have better political instincts.

Okay, Ezra is confirming that he's hearing D senators are actually plotting to cave to Trump and end the shutdown WITHOUT any extension of the ACA, just a promise of a vote later down the line.

Call your senators, friends, NOW, and tell them NO DEAL without ACA funding!

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

Schumer is not the right leader to fight Republican authoritarianism. He just isn’t that leader.
it’s absolutely still a failure by Schumer to hold the caucus together here, I understand that it’s harder in the Senate but when nobody else is on board with this at all you fucked up as leader

but the least he can do is stand back and let them face the furious base alone

Schumer's DC office number: 202-224-6542

Gillibrand's DC office number: (202) 224-4451
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
