I am old enough to remember when I could go to the store with a penny and actually buy something. Before they were replaced by Dollar Stores, a magical place called the 5 & 10 existed. It was called that because many of the items sold cost 5 cents or 10 cents, even less. Like penny candy. Really.

I grew up in the hills of eastern Kentucky and "Ashokan Farewell" (the piece of music shared below) creates such a sense of longing in me... And I don't even know what it is I long for. It moves me in ways that words cannot express.
