81 years ago today two Johnson County, Kentucky men found themselves among the first wave in the landings at Normandy (D-Day).

Curtiss Burchett and Onda Murphy, both of Company E, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, would lose their lives on Omaha Beach that day.
