Yeah, it isn't a masterpiece, but it is a good movie that I enjoyed the hell out of and supports the kind of sentiment we need these days. Superman was definitely a win, as was the usual Friday movie night with my favorite person. :)

The Nation pulls NO punches, from @espiers.bsky.social

"There's no requirement to take part in this whitewashing campaign. Refusing to join in doesn’t make anyone a bad person. It’s a choice to write an obituary that begins “Joseph Goebbels was a gifted marketer and loving father to six children.”

Good father's day with a great dinner by @fiddledragon.bsky.social . Going out to a movie tomorrow with my middle daughter for my birthday, followed by what is guaranteedto be another great meal with the family. No matter how tough life may get this year, loving my family!

A 17 year old transgender man in New Zealand died after extreme family rejection.

Now, Radio New Zealand and the far right is deadnaming him and trying to use his case to advocate AGAINST gender affirming care.

It's shameful.

It is difficult to write and grade a technical certification exam on underlying principles, but so many entry or lower level certifications these days are regurgitating memorized names/terms and matching them up to definitions. Planning to be an expert later? Work to learn the principles, too.

Have to say I am more interested in David Hogg's approach than that of the DNC. We're not going to get anywhere with more of the same-old, same-old centrism.

Well, finally saw Brave New World. A lesser attempt at trying to capture the Winter Soldier, and a waste of Anthony Mackie's performance. He deserves a better movie. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't particularly good.

AOC is right, Schumer is wrong. We are way past the point where old-school political strategies make any sense. He's just handing them the reins willingly. www.cnn.com/2025/03/13/p...

Wrote up something about Techdirt's recent coverage, and why (whether we like it or not) we need to be a "democracy blog" now, rather than just a "tech" blog (not that we've ever been just a tech blog).

This story is *the* story and it impacts everything else.

Took way too many hours and a lot of sheetrock cut and replaced, but more new network jacks in place in the house, including the one I need to be able to stop having a cable run across 2 rooms between servers and router. Now up to 7 wired ports in the patch panel. Many to go, but not this week.
