1. To opinions! Solar is the cheapest source of bulk electricity in many countries, and the quickest to deploy, and now you couldn't stop it being built if you wanted to. The limits to PV build in most places are grid access, permitting, and sometimes installation labour.

SCOOP: Revolution Wind employed 80 fishermen over the past 2 years, paying out $9.5 million to captains, deckhands, and fishing boat owners. Trump's pause means he just put Trump-voting fishermen out of work.

When Trump paused Empire Wind, the fishermen stayed quiet.

This time, they spoke to me.👇

We need an environmental movement that buil--- what? It's fossil-aligned R's that have been blocking this for 15 years?

Oh.

Nevermind then.
The Grain Belt Express would be highest capacity and second longest transmission line in US history, bringing electricity from the wind belt to the cities. Politicians in Missouri, who could be helping their ratepayers by bringing in this extremely inexpensive energy, are fighting to block it.
Invenergy, a closely-held power developer, is calling on the Trump Administration to affirm its commitment to a $11 billion power line in the US Midwest after a US Senator from Missouri said he’s secured a pledge from federal officials to halt the project

Republicans are now suddenly planning to TAX renewable energy, transforming the repeal of the IRA from a challenge to a full-blown crisis for American solar and wind.

I spent the last 24 hours putting this story together to explain why.

Is NEPA the barrier to clean energy deployment? Will the recent Supreme Court decision restricting it lead to a new golden era of clean energy abundance?

No. In our new blog, @franksturges.bsky.social and I explain why--and what we can do to speed permitting instead.
Our latest blog breaks down:

🔶 What the ruling says (and doesn’t say)
🔶 Why #NEPA isn’t the culprit behind slow permitting
🔶 Sensible reforms that can speed clean energy while safeguarding public input and environmental protections

The recent Supreme Court decision is the latest unjustified attack on NEPA. Here’s how to actually improve permitting.
The Seven County Infrastructure Coalition v. Eagle County ruling, aimed at weakening NEPA, will not improve project outcomes.
