If I hear the checkers/chess analogy one more time, I'm going to poke my eardrums out.

I finished watching Adolescence on #Netflix last night. The show was well done, and the final scene was truly heartbreaking.

why go to therapy when you can drink coffee and buy books as a little treat to fill the void inside.

Good morning to everyone except those who tell you that you have “too many books.”

Abso-fucking-lutely.
I urge everyone reading this to keep your spirits high and to make up your Goddamn mind to be a steel-spined, unrelenting, ultra-resilient, super-charged, motherfucker on wheels.

Toss every thought of, "I can't," out on its ass with such a fierceness that those thoughts wither and die on the vine.

Politicians and corporations are colluding to censor social media right now for the same reasons that they used to ban enslaved people from reading. Social media was never intended for us to build community. It's meant for the rich and powerful to spread disinformation that divides and distracts us.

I need "emotional support scones" ❤️
At the moment, I'm not reading in front of a crackling fire in a Scottish Highlands cottage during a raging snowstorm whilst enjoying a plate of emotional support scones, so no, I'm afraid your email did not "find me well."

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.
