A Cat For Our Times - Morris, 1986

Vector-green moggies and retro-tech. This ginger techie was one of the many Morris mascots for the 9Lives brand of cat food over the decades.
The cover of a calendar featuring Morris, the ginger cat mascot of the food company, stood up in front of a desk on which a computer keyboard and monitor rests. Looks like its an integrated PC and monitor as the keyboard cable, one of those old curly ones, goes into the bottom. There's some floral wallpaper and a vase of pink and white flowers in shot too. No idea what computer model it may be!

I've been buried in my latest restoration but here is one of my personal favourites for #Periphebruary. The Mimic Spartan. A #Commodore 64 add-on that allows it to run #AppleII software. #vintagecomputer #retrocomputer
This picture shows the Mimic Spartan attached to a Commodore 64. I don't have the Commodore 1541 disk drive board that allows the Spartan to use a 1541 drive to read/write Apple II diskettes so it uses a regular Apple II disk drive controller with Disk II drives (two are shown). It also passes through the IEC port for normal Commodore 1541 drive access. It's connected to a 1702 monitor showing the system running the Apple II Confidence test. This picture shows the an open Mimic Spartan attached to a Commodore 64 and a 1702 monitor. The system is running Total Replay off of a CFFA 3000 hard disk emulator. This is an advertisement for the Mimic Spartan. It's cost is shown as US$599. The Mimic Spartan was made in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
