Mike Johnson is an incredibly weak Speaker of the House in historical terms
Five discharge petitions have succeeded since Johnson became speaker.

That’s more than the prior three decades, says Politico: www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The voice actor for Phineas on Phineas and Ferb is saying he’s getting death threats because he said he supports trans people and their rights on Twitter

And I got a message back yesterday from Instagram where i reported this hateful comment that they weren’t taking it down

Internet is a hellscape

Maybe I should stay over here today because Twitter/X is going to be insufferable as the results come in

Might be fun to see some fascist tears tho. I can’t help myself cuz I love seeing that

Pennsylvania is a state that has really diverse & high stakes, up and down the ballot tomorrow.

—control of state supreme court
—lower state court races
—Philly DA: Krasner's reelect
—important, heated school boards
—partisan battles for county execs in swing counties

The evolving conservatization of the media is profoundly and deeply worrying. I don’t like to think about it and don’t know what to do about it either
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

The Philly collab I’ve been dying for
Sometimes you just have to go appreciate the art of your city with the people who love doing the same! If you don’t know Philly With Lena yet, you will. And if you’ve walked by this mural a million times without truly noticing it in all its glory, slow down next time you’re in the neighborhood!

Three days to go—don’t miss my thread on three of the biggest stakes outside of NJ, VA, NYC.
If Dems win the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania in 9 days, it’s extremely likely the GOP can’t get a majority on that court until 2029.

The GOP really wants to have this majority during the 2028 presidential race.

Can’t put the stakes any more clearly than that. boltsmag.org/pennsylvania...
Inside the Clunky Elections to Control Pennsylvania's Supreme Court - Bolts
The GOP is making an expensive push to end Democrats’ majority on a court at the center of election lawsuits, sparking a fledging campaign season with little precedent or template.

Some days over on Twitter get a little too loud. Like I feel like it’s getting harder and harder to meet anyone like minded over there. And the For You just pushes fascism in your face all the time it’s so annoying. I’ve seen ppl I thought were sensible start using the R slur again like it’s 2002

A lot of the gerrymandering stuff going on w/state legislatures is pretty bad because even if Trump remains unpopular into 2026, Democrats win more votes, we could still lose our one shot at halting the rest of his agenda for 2 years.

Which is a big deal. Think of all Obama didn’t get done 2010-16

Daily Wire reporter is asking this question. They are itching to lock up every trans person in the US and eradicate us.
Q: There are calls for the FBI to institute a new class of domestic terrorism that involves trans ideology. Is that something the administration would support?

LEAVITT: I would have to check with the appropriate people on that

But also being about 7 months post-concussion is a large contributing factor here

So I guess you can say slurs on Twitter but you can’t tell people who say Biden “won” his election that they should stop continuing to be alive and they should be the person who stops themselves from being alive … is still not allowed

If you’re a group fitness instructor of any kind and your Apple Watch is telling you that you’re over your noise exposure limit, for your own sake and that of your class, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN

*Please* ignore the people asking for higher volume!

Processed a case for a man born in the 30s whose first and middle names were “Franklin” and “Delano” and it’s almost impossible in 2025 imagining loving a president that much you name your son after him

Surprisingly (or maybe not considering the times) this man was a white southerner
