my first thought was - is School Pulse Panel back? But no, an informal NYT survey and district questionnaire (!). (1/n)
The pandemic-era practice of giving students their own laptops and tablets has remained, with most students now learning on computers or tablets during the school day. And 81% of of elementary school teachers said students at their school receive devices for use in class by kindergarten.

A team of researchers analyzed the anatomical dimensions of an infamous imprint on a Chicago sidewalk, sifting through photos and measuring mammal specimens in museum collections to put what they were seeing in context.

Their conclusion? The Chicago Rat Hole was not made by a rat.

My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."

and COE (necessarily) made great use of federal data, from ED to Census to CDC and more, all from statistical agencies required by law. Even more in jeopardy now.
Going back to ignoring the government in a moment but this is why I spent so much time pushing on the condition of education. It's so important that it's explicitly required by law. And yet...
It’s impt enough to be explicitly required by law: The Secretary of Health and Human Services “shall publish weekly reports of health conditions in the United States…and other pertinent health information for the use of persons and institutions concerned with health services.” (42 U.S.C. §242o(b)

Another statistical agency, like NCES, also required by law.

Expect a series of continuing resolutions and possibly a government shutdown before December.
