I don't believe in anything or anyone but me
Once I was in a park and a family complete with a bright copper 3 year old settled down near me. And then mum said they'd have to go, she'd forgotten their sunscreen, and the little one screamed. I tossed my factor 100 over to them and said they can have it, you'd think I'd saved them from drowning

It's very telling that I learned a watered down version of Rosa Parks' story in school at 14... And about the Bristol bus boycott two decades later thanks to a museum exhibit. I grew up an hour from Bristol

People try to claim my potato beastie is overweight when they see curled up photos, but she only looks fat when she's all bunched together. She's a very long cat, and it's obvious when you see her at full extension that no, she's just fine and proportionate. Feline accordion.

We had plans for today, but Ingrid decided not to start and we've known her battery was on the way out for a while. 2014 car, original battery... we knew it was coming at some point.

Now my wife is soaking in the bath because strong or not, that battery was heavy and she got cold working outside

I was about to say that The Onion seems to have jurisdiction there, but then I realized that there's nothing to stop them also having an AO3 account.

Knees are sneaky bastards that will betray you at a moment's notice. I'd offer you one of mine, but both of them are being assholes right now.

Uncle John was a genius. If he'd had a supportive family and a real education instead of being shipped off to the military as soon as mandatory schooling was over he could have been a professor. He made electrical engineering look easy, but he never looked down on anyone who didn't understand

We're in my parents garage, and uncle John doesn't tell me that electronics are for boys, or that I'm not old enough to get it. When I ask he explains the circuits and components, and manages in his own odd way to make it understandable for my preschool head. My father doesn't approve; I don't care
