People try to claim my potato beastie is overweight when they see curled up photos, but she only looks fat when she's all bunched together. She's a very long cat, and it's obvious when you see her at full extension that no, she's just fine and proportionate. Feline accordion.

We carved some low effort pumpkins last night. Stuffed my phone in there to see how they'd look lit up. Hopefully we have candles somewhere...

Not enjoying storm Amy. In fact the only person more miffed by this than me is Empress Sootybutt the Great and Powerful. The arthritis in my knees is playing up thanks to the wind and rain, so I bet hers is really uncomfortable. Thankfully it's a concrete house, or we wouldn't still have a house.

In which Sooty becomes a hermit crab. Slightly out of frame: A plush padded igloo bed that until recently was her curl-up spot of choice. Instead she's decided on a solid floor with only a thin layer of fabric for padding and insulation. She's sixteen! She should be looking for cushions!

Then and now

A serial killer is on the loose. Three moths already this week have been hunted, toyed with, dismembered, and cronched. Suspect is small, furry, adorable, and inexplicably heavy when picked up against her will.

Okay Rimworld, what the fuck? It's not my graphics drivers since I've updated thsoe and I haven't changed my mod loadout that much, so I can only assume 1.6 is bugged af

My grubby street punk self got bathed and made presentable for work. I feel more myself in the last few days, but this outfit... this felt like an awkward costume more than anything. The problem is everything except sweatpants and 5XL hoodie that comes to my knees feels like an uncomfortable costume

I finished it. Doing something with my hands means I can concentrate on what I'm watching/listening to, without vanishing into my own head or into the doomscrolling rabbit hole and losing track altogether of external stuff

Making a thing. It's all muscle memory, if I think about it I make weird mistakes.

I wish the yellow was more saturated but it's cotton yarn and the colours often aren't as bright as acrylic

Successful day out at Bristol Pride, minus some ridiculousness with ALL the trains through Warminster being cancelled on our way home. I hugged a lot of people. Once again it was mostly kids. People young enough to be my biological children.

I don't really need the book. I can recite the story from memory even though it's been 30+ years. I'm sure my mother still dreams about it given how often I demanded to hear this story. Still, it's good to have. I don't know what happened to all my books from when I was a kid. Nothing good, I'm sure

Solar charged the cat yesterday. She was uncomfortably hot to the touch by the time she was done, but also purring up a storm so I assume she was happy with the toasting.

She's in a patch of direct sunlight shining through a glass door, and her brown undercoat is showing through around her shoulders and belly. Her tail has a tight curl at the end, and her usually sleek fur is ruffled, showing just how deep and plush her coat is. She looks like if you rested your hand on her ribs, it would disappear entirely into her coat.

Proof that I was a Very Brave Bean and went up even though half of me was certain that there was a chance I'd die. I sat on the edge of that step in the second photo, grabbed stuff being passed up, and pushed it across the floor behind me.

Told my wife today 'I want at least forty more years with you' and meant it.

There was a time where I 'knew' I wouldn't live to see 18. 20. 25. 30. Where I 'knew' that I'd never be happy.

Even if it all gets taken away at some point, I'm glad I had this.

This cat would happily be brushed for hours on end. I've never met a cat that likes being brushed so damn much. This is one minute of about... I think 20? that my wife was just brushing a whole other cat out of her.
