When I think about how often I just did this by default, completely unthinking, it honestly takes my breath away. Like I have to sit there and really absorb it for a few seconds because it's just so much time play-acting at being something I'm not, in literally every aspect of my life.
We have to internalize "It doesn't make sense to me that this rule exists, but someone who understands this society says it does and that I'm being weird for not following it, so I better add that to my mental map of existence so I don't stand out again."

A gender dysphoria diagnosis is a lot like a diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy (tingly and painful fingers)--it's the result of something else: being forced to live as someone we're not. That's inherently traumatic.
And treating symptoms will never resolve either condition.

Gender Dysphoria is the diagnosis of a symptom not a condition. Much of what I consider dysphoria are the results of the trauma caused compulsory cisnormativity. Trans people are denied the closet in so many facets of our lives

2. therefore in-group in intent and implications
3. out of context becomes very hit or miss because all that is lost
4. implications become a free for all the more people use it based on vibes.

Enough trans people have told me they and their friends group have been using “doll,” so I’m big enough to admit I was wrong.
I still don’t like the term, but i guess it is coming from within the community.

This new trend of cis people calling trans women "dolls" is going to be an interesting case study.
Because as near as I can tell, every trans woman I've met either hates it or is ambivalent; no one is pushing for it.
It just seems to be the kind of people who love ally cookies.

yeah. the fact some people don't want or can't access hrt and are still trans and correctly their gender, doesn't mean wanting hrt (or other medical interventions) is "transphobic" or misogynistic or assimilationist.

yup. Once we're at the final election, your responsibility is to look at which platform reduces damage, at the least. We're all stuck in this system together; your conscience is irrelevant; if both candidates support something, then you have no control over that. Vote for the pieces you can affect.
At this point, if you say to me “Democrats have to earn my vote” it is going to be our last conversation.
A vote is not a reward for good or brave behavior.
A vote is a choice of an agenda.
Beecause after election day an agenda IS getting enacted.
You can hold back your vote from Democrats all you want, but do you really letting the Republicans back into power is going to help anyone...anywhere?
