In previous life I supported technology in the largest school system in Maryland, serving more than 160,500 students. I retired early to work full-time on Obama's 2nd campaign, & have kept an eye on Dem politics since.
Thanks

Oof! Abdominal surgery's nothing to sneeze at - literally! Sneezing is painful! I hope you're feeling better soon.

I originally was scheduled for 12/2, but as I'm preparing for 18 people tomorrow & have 7 houseguests for the weekend, I'm thankful that didn't work out. I'd go into surgery exhausted!

We usually do Christmas Eve chili.

This year I'll be less than 2 weeks out of knee replacement surgery & still using a walker, so we're going to get Chinese carryout. My son suggests Peking duck.

I use the searing hot tiles underneath, low temp oven method to get well done dark meat and juicy, not overcooked breast meat. I did a trial run last week & have 1/2 a juicy breast in the freezer as backup (18 for dinner & 8 weekend houseguests)

And Carville had the audacity to invoke Mamdani's win to make his point? Mamdani didn't go "anti-woke" to win. Quite the opposite! www.readtpa.com/p/a-politici...
A Politician Actually Defended Trans People. It Shouldn't Be This Rare.
Many Democrats are treating trans people as politically toxic. NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani released a two-minute video proving there's another way.

That looks and sounds amazing.

Well then I apologize to Ms. Nuzzi, but only for the above post.

The irony of course is that Black Americans are probably far more likely to be descended from people who lived in North America before 1776 than white Americans are.

Yeah, it feels pretty yucky. Like, it's definitely revenge, and that's always got a tinge of abuse.

Nuzzi is a Nazi?!?

I could only say that in this thread.

Also a problem, if you turn out not to have the problem the doc 1st suspected, they assume (& tell you) that you have no problem at all! However, you still have symptoms & feel lousy. Maybe you go home, maybe you go to another doc - who labels you a doctor shopper & ignores your problem.

I just laughed out loud, and it's really sad that I only had to read these words to know who "she" and "him" refers to.

Well well well. I guess we know whose name is in those files now, don't we?

I remember when Fingertips Pt 2 came out. I was exactly his age - 13. I remember rollerskating to it in my basement & thinking, this kid is so far ahead of me in life, he has a talent I can never reach as long as I live.

What a weird way to look at genius.

My super simple appetizer is a block of cream cheese with a divot pressed on the top & filled with hot pepper jelly (from my garden jalapenos) or chutney. Serve with crackers, pita chips, or thin sliced French bread.

I've been doing the stuffing in the crockpot for the last few Thanksgivings. Use some of the turkey fat that you pull out of the bird to saute the veggies for turkey flavor, & your stuffing will come out tasty with no bacterial worries.

So happy for you! (And her!)

We really need to focus more on the Nuremberg trials in our educational system, ideally from the perspective of the people who felt empowered under a corrupted regime to do evil things and how that feeling of power didn’t save them in the end.
