This is me as a new teacher (yes, we actually had chalk boards then!). Now, 25 years later, Penny Bishop and I have a book out TODAY called Real Talk for New Teachers: Tools for a Sustainable Career. We deeply hope it helps educators build a humane and sustainable career in teaching. #teachers #ED

So give me the stories of women taking up space, standing for those who need it or can’t, connecting with those at the margins, and being incredibly badass and brilliant.

As a parent with kids in school this is the stuff that keeps me up at night. That Trump is *hiding* and *reversing* any progress we've made to stop school shootings is truly unthinkable.

They say it's not the guns, it's mental health, and then defund mental health programs.
Gun violence is the number one killer of kids in this country, and gun crime continues to plague America’s communities—but rather than addressing it, President Trump and his administration are trying to cover it up.

We won’t let them get away with this.

Love bookstores? Love browsing new ones while traveling? Love having one near home? if so, you need to shop at them, or they won't be there to love. Indies offer way more value than just buying a book - expert curation, personal book recs, events, donations, a safe space, fun social media! #booksky

Hey folks, THE BOARD is open for signed pre-orders now from my local indie Bear Pond Books. I'm obviously super chill about it (this is me when I got my ARCs last week in the mail).
