The poverty team at Columbia ran the numbers on *just* the Thrifty rollback and *just* on families with kids and found that for every $1 in cuts ("savings"), we all lose $14-20. My goodness.

This was such a an interesting read. I am not a lawyer or scholar, but really enjoyed the clarity of language, the precise points, and the Kafka reference. Kids ask teachers why they learn things. This is why. This is what kids should read in schools.

That’s it. This wasn’t a big secret among… anyone. I was with her at every campaign event and introduced myself as her partner. We’ve been together for years. I just didn’t want to detract from her message. This is her thing and my material support is Trader Joe’s pasta and feeding Heater.

The state of Georgia is using the body of a brain-dead woman as an incubator. Because she was 9 weeks pregnant when she died, and their abortion ban is from about 6 weeks, they are sustaining her on life support, without input from her family, until 32 weeks of gestation. A true dystopian nightmare.

The Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.
