Devastating. Trump admin selling off historic public art to the highest bidder. "It is a tragic irony that murals meant to represent the contract between the government and its citizens would be sold to the highest bidder rather than preserved for posterity." www.alternet.org/trump-destro...

Painted figures haunt an empty building. A boy leaning on a pair of crutches. A father and son wandering a barren railroad track. A nuclear family at a picnic table. These poignant scenes were painted...

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Let *this* be the future of the Democratic Party.
Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

Remember Dems, this is not the end of the fight, but just the beginning. We now see our power. Keep using it. Tell your GOP Reps they are next on the chopping block.
We go to sleep in a better country than we woke up in. Thank you to everyone who worked for these coast-to-coast victories, for this utter repudiation of Trumpism, for economic justice and a country for all of us, not for white supremacy.

I like Jimmy Kimmel. I really do. I have no issues with him.

I'm talking about something very different.

Kimmel was only suspended. But he's back now. Karen Attiah and all the other Black journalists are still fired.

Y'all do know how to fight, when you want to.

But you don't really want to. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Only 16% of you are reading for pleasure? I know there's a lot of entertainment out there, but reading can help you take yourself out of the world where everything's on a screen. And make good things happen inside you. So renew that library card & get cracking.
As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

For all of the Emmy show criticism I saw so much good: Jeff Hiller winning, Owen Cooper's acceptance, Colbert's speech, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, and yes, I liked the Boys and Girl's Club fundraiser idea.

A hefty bag of goodness and humanity on that stage. We need more and more of that.

If passed, Newsom's budget plan will:

Strip Medi-Cal from every 65+ or disabled person with more than $2000 in assets.

Remove dental and long-term coverage from undocumented Californians.

Impose higher premiums specifically on undocumented people.

And yet it did. It amuses me how little Americans know about their country, and even more how much white people refuse to accept about themselves.

They’re some of the consistently consistent ppl on this planet. Set your watch to them…their bs is always on time.
Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.
