There are more than 10m children in school in the UK…but, per Times, 3,000 might move to state sector because of VAT rise…so Whitehall is “braced” 😲😲😲

Says a lot about UK media bubble, the way this story is reported.

You pay VAT on luxuries. Private schooling is that.

Sod this. You win by going both high and low. By taking on the lofty arguments and by practicing low politics. The two go together.

Well, you can only be expected to do so much to help dismantle a platform being used to undermine democracy. Leaving behind some Chelsea stuff is just too much to ask.

Not quite sure how to reconcile 'thoughtful and moral' with his endorsements of Orban and Trump. The more thought he put into those interjections, the more one is forced to draw conclusions about his morals.
Here Turner describes Tim Montgomerie as "thoughtful and moral" - and then goes on to quote him saying he joined Reform to fight the "Islamification of Britain".

Times columnists absolutely fine with racism as long as it's the right sort of racism.

In a shocking example, closure of BBC Arabic radio led to Russia Today taking over the same frequency

I get the political calculation here. I'm just gonna point out that the predominance of research into European parties' efforts to outflank the far right like this has found that they merely legitimised the far right's political framing and led voters to opt for the "full fat" version.

Alternatively - a person who didn't get to the very top, where she expected to be, and is now extremely bitter. She saw all this on the way up and said nothing until her lust for a peerage went unsated.
I don’t know whether Nadine Dorries is right about the Tory Party being rotten, corrupt and controlled by shadowy figures - but somewhere in the conspiracy theory is a woman who got near the top, peered in and is revolted. She admits many regrets. Worth watching youtu.be/_P3LuSRsibY
