In 1999, Julia Butterfly Hill climbed to the top of a 200-ft, 1,000 year old Redwood to stop the Pacific Lumber Company from cutting it down. She weathered freezing rains, 40 mph winds, and harassment by men in helicopters.
She didn’t come down for 738 days.

Notes: The People's March in the District. We live 35 minutes from a metro stop and took the train in. Our car was full of March people which was nice, until the doors closed and 2 women wearing jesus propagada sang & screamed about our hellbound liberalism, welp see y'all down there 🫠 way more fun
