Well now I want to figure out what red flag Jane Austen (genuinely my favorite author) is. There’s a certain vein of proto-tradwife that was super into her fifteen or twenty years ago, but I don’t know if they’ve moved on to other, more problematic faves or not.

catharsis, or some other form of meaning. In this way it’s almost a moral imperative to do our art and share it with people. Not to the exclusion of more practical or political activities, but still important. Even (especially) in the darkest times we need moments of light & joy to keep us going.

and that as artists we never know what’s going to reach someone or what it might mean to them. I feel helpless to change world events, but I can at least create things and release them into the world. If I do that they might reach someone and hopefully bring them some comfort, joy, laughter, hope 3/

A great album, but even if I woke up tomorrow to find out the band hated the album and it was critically panned and I was the only person in the world who liked it, it would still have the same warm and comforting associations for me. And that it’s remarkable that art can do that for us 2/

I feel that 100%, but I had a realization the other day that changed my POV a bit. I was listening to one of my favorite albums — one I fell asleep to every night for a year or more when I was a teenager. It still soothes my nervous system and relaxes me the same way it did then. Ooh, jealous! I just discovered a couple days ago I need a cordless iron — my old corded one took a few too many plunges with the cord getting caught under my wheelchair wheels. I’ll have to check out that model and see if it’s available where I live!

Thanks! I can’t take credit for the diamond layout, I based it off one I saw on Pinterest that I loved (and am sadly having trouble finding again). The nearly infinite possibilities of layouts make half square triangles so much fun!
