NEW: Trump claims he broke contact with Epstein in 2004. But Epstein sure seemed to know about President Trump’s policy views and thinking in 2017, via correspondence with an advisor for Bill Gates.

(In the same emails, Epstein also asks Gates’ advisor if she’d fucked him. So there’s that too.)
Jeffrey Epstein Claimed Intimate Knowledge of Donald Trump’s Views in Texts With Bill Gates Adviser
In text messages from 2017, Jeffrey Epstein seemingly represented himself as positioned to pass information from the Trump White House to Bill Gates through an intermediary.

Pleased to report that I am doing my bit to keep marmalade consumption up as I have it on my toast every morning. I don't like honey - it's too sweet.
I regret to inform you, but marmalade consumption continues to plummet in the UK.
Back in 1974 each adult, each week, ate on average 27g. It was a mere 4g in 2024 (down from 6g in 2023).
Honey, by contrast, has gone from 5g in 1974 to 9g last year.

Peak #coal (finally)? 2025 Jan-Oct seaborne thermal coal volumes were lower than than in 2024 and 2023. It's possible this was a economy/weather related dip. Yet given strong growth in #renewables, #storage I reckon coal use for #power generation is in structural decline (i.e. it's peaked). 🤞

<extremely first world grumble>I have two pairs of jeans. Both Levi's, both the same version (721 skinny; yes, I'm old, skinny til I die, thank you), both the same size. Only difference is the colour: one lighter denim, one darker. One fits fine-verging-on-snug, the other is a bit too big. *sigh* 🤷‍♀️

*gnash* Sophie Raworth has just referred to the Princess of Wales as "Princess Catherine" and she's *not* "Princess Catherine" - she's not a princess in her own right. (Yes I know this is arcane - my mum used to work at Windsor Castle and her being a stickler rubbed off on me.)

I have so many questions about Noah Smith's fuckwitted take on Heathrow, starting with, but not limited to "why on earth would you even consider flying from Dublin via LHR when there are God knows how many nonstop flights?" The whole thing then cascades into multiple idiocies.

Absolutely here for this suggestion. A Muppet Blofeld would be superb.
I mean the solution is simple, it’s staring everyone in their face, they just can’t see it:

Just redo all the Bond movies in order with a new actor and all the supporting characters are played by Muppets.
Obvious solution to the But Bond Died problem: what if Bond is now also Tron from the computer and now he's played by beloved beloved character actor Jared Leto
