Writer. Librarian. Disciple of Christ. Bad at playing the piano and keeping plants alive but continuing to attempt both anyway
There’s some good in the world, and it’s worth fighting for 🤍
It’s a pomodoro method type of writing day.

Sometimes when you’re writing you get stuck and your options become 1: Go to the post office, or 2: Have a breakdown.

So guess who’s going to the post office?

Sitting down to write with a brand new keyboard is a FANTASTIC feeling!

No holes, no worn-off letters, and best of all: Backlit keys!

Library tip: need a place to study? To hang out? To rest? Visit your local library. Libraries are one of the few true third spaces left where you aren't expected to spend money while there. Enjoy some quiet time surrounded by books and community. #booksky 📚💙 #libsky

My notes app is OVERFLOWING with random thoughts, scraps of poems, and notes for my books. I’m talking THOUSANDS of words.

I think today’s a good day to do some cleaning out 😂

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.

I love when I’m writing and the software autocorrects a word, only then to mark that correction as a mistake… Like, thanks for nothing?? What was the point of that? 😂

Tip from my state librarians: When emailing representatives about library issues, don’t just copy/paste a template! Make sure to personalize the text (more so than just inserting your name and their name) or it might get filtered out by bot detectors.

All I want is an ominous Victorian mansion, a full moon, a crackling fire, a vintage copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula, a kettle on the stove, wolves howling in the distance, and a basket of freshly-baked pastries.

today is a perfect day to log off, read a book, flee into the cold woods of Narnia and hide out for the rest of your life eating venison and toffee and Turkish delight, it’s called self-care.

Seriously, don't expend energy arguing on the internet. Look for the tangibles that will actually help marginalized people. Volunteer if you have time. Donate if you have money. Run for an office like local school board (help stop book bans). Use the internet to educate in your area of expertise.
I'm not a conflict avoider; I'm a peace of mind seeker. Save your energy for important battles.
